Vanilla Cherry Ice Cream

Enjoy the smooth, creamy goodness of vanilla ice cream with a tasty burst of cherry flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
  • 1 cup cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, and sugar over medium heat

Stir until sugar dissolves

Add the vanilla bean including scraped seeds to the mixture

Bring to a simmer, then remove from heat and let it steep for 30 minutes

Remove the vanilla bean from the mixture

Stir in vanilla extract

Chill the mixture in the refrigerator until thoroughly chilled, preferably overnight

Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions

During the last few minutes of churning, add the chopped cherries to the ice cream maker

Transfer the churned ice cream into a freezer-safe container, cover, and freeze until firm, about 4-6 hours or overnight

Serve and enjoy!
